About this project
An embedded Shopify app that connects a merchant's store to eBay. It lists Shopify products on eBay, keeps price and inventory in sync in both directions, imports eBay orders (including refunds and cancellations) into Shopify, and sends Shopify fulfillments back to eBay. It serves 10,000+ merchants, with 1B+ SKUs and 50,000+ orders a day.
I lead its architecture and senior engineering. Highlights: catalog ingestion and reconciliation pipelines on the eBay Trading API and a diff-based layer on the Sell Feed API's Active Inventory Report, which closed pagination-drift gaps; idempotent, retry-safe queue jobs on Redis/Horizon for tables with hundreds of millions to 1B+ rows; and a fix for a production Redis bottleneck caused by 2.8M O(N) KEYS scans, solved by moving to SET-based key tracking.
The app also has AI features: a Shopify Sidekick extension lets merchants manage collections, products and eBay sync profiles by chatting with Shopify's assistant, and an MCP support server lets Crisp's AI agent diagnose merchants' listing errors during live support chats.
